DRYMOUNTING

Prior to using our presses we suggest you make a mounting board and overlay sheet, as follows
Mounting base board.
Cut a piece of thick mounting board 2" bigger than the platen. Mount release paper on one side with drymount tissue this will be your non-stick base board.
Overlay sheet.
Cover both sides of your overlay sheet with a larger folded piece of release paper leaving a small oversize boarder on three sides, tape the bottom edge to the top. This can also be used when mounting larger items than the platen to prevent edging.
DRYMOUNTING METHOD

1. Place the object to be mounted face down on the base board
and cover with Drymount tissue. tack in position on opposing corners with our tacking iron.
2. Trim the work to the size you require.
3. Align the work, face up, on the mount or card and tack the other corners to hold it in position.
4. Place the work on the mounting board with the overlay sheet(or release paper) on top into the centre of the press. With the temperature set between 80-95 degrees close for approx half a minute.
5. Remove work from press an check that it has mounted ok if not it may need pressing slightly longer.

(Tip) A small piece of release paper held under the tacking iron tip when tacking will help keep the work and the iron clean.

HEATSEALING

1. Cut a piece of heatseal film (available in gloss, matt, or textured etc) slightly bigger than the work to be sealed.
2. make sure that the work piece is perfectly clean.
3. With one of our perforators (see accessories) pierce the film to release any air when sealing.
4. Peel the heatsealing film from the silicone paper backing and place evenly over the work piece smoothing it out to get rid of most of the air pockets.
5. Place upwards on the mounting board and cover with your release paper and foam overlay.
6. Place centrally in the preheated press (temprature set as before) for about 3 minutes.
Remove from your press and check if sealed or if it needs a little longer.
7. Trim the work to size required.

(Tip) When you are more confident you can do both above procedures together.
